My story began 12 years ago when I realized that t My story began 12 years ago when I realized that the world didn’t need another Yoga Studio. We didn’t need another candlelit space where people could escape from their stressful jobs for momentary relief. Instead, what we needed was a way to bring yoga into the corporate world- the root of stress itself. We needed a practice that went beyond turning up the heat and touching our toes. We needed a practice that balances yogic principles with business practices. One that proudly displays its values and purpose not just to its practitioners, but to the entire world. That’s when I started Office Yoga. 📸 @markkuroda

A well sequenced Desk Yoga class can feel like mag A well sequenced Desk Yoga class can feel like magic. It seems so simple, but I often encounter these awkward flow disrupters: How do we transition from sitting to standing? Where will people put their chairs? Is the table large enough? Charles is 6’2” and way taller than the desk, how am I going to modify this? Where’s the best place for me to stand for people watching remotely? Do I wear yoga pants or business casual? Let’s just say, I’ve had my fair share of awkward moments. 😂 I look forward to smoothing out your flow disrupters in the Instructor Training #linkinbio In the meantime, what’s your most awkward teaching moment? In studio or office… 👇🏽 #yogateacher #officeyoga #yogainstructortraining #yogalifestyle #yogaatwork #yoga #yogainspiration

For every yoga studio in the US, there are 9,871 b For every yoga studio in the US, there are 9,871 businesses. In big cities like San Francisco and New York, there are 94,000+ businesses for every yoga studio. If you're trying to build a career teaching yoga, there are plenty of opportunities beyond the studio, gym, and retreat gigs. Not only are the possibilities endless for Office Yoga, but classes typically happen during lunch or early afternoon, complementing studio times.   In the Instructor Training in March, I’ll cover how to find, manage, and maintain clients to support your teaching career. #linkinbio #officeyoga #OYO #yogateacher #yogateachertraining #yogalifestyle #yogainstructor #businessofyoga #yogastudios #yogastudent
Thank you for the opportunity to let me teach what Thank you for the opportunity to let me teach what I love. 💞 I took a big risk last year separating my business into two. I moved my corporate clients over to @kickzaas so I can focus Office Yoga on training instructors. These are very different businesses with very different audiences. That meant stepping away from OYO for awhile, which was exposing. But, like in Rummy, sometimes you gotta put it down to pick it back up. 🃏 Yoga shouldn’t be the place we go to escape our work. Instead, work should be a place we go to do the yoga- in service to the world and those around us. Coming back to the instructor manual has lit me up. ✨I look forward to seeing you at the Info Session tomorrow (#linkinbio). Thank you for the opportunity to let me teach what I love. 💞 #officeyoga #teachertraining #officeyogateacher #yogainstructor #yogapractice
Just because the client doesn’t respond doesn’ Just because the client doesn’t respond doesn’t mean they’re not interested.   Last week someone replied to an email I sent in 2019.

THAT WAS 4 YEARS AGO. 😆 Offering yoga in the workplace is very different than teaching in a studio. “Asana” refers to an organizational platform, not the 3rd limb of yoga. These are very different worlds, and our responsibility as Office Yogis is to bridge that gap.

In my experience, it takes 6-14 weeks (depending on the company size) to go from inquiry and implementation with a new client. Therefore, being consistent and continuing to talk about your services is essential, even if it feels like no one is listening. This is a practice in #abhyasa, consistent, steady practice. In the meantime, learn from teachers in your field. Follow up with people. Stay committed to your service. Just because the client doesn’t respond doesn’t mean they’re not interested.   #officeyoga #OYO #yogapractice #yogateacher #yogateachertraining #officeyogatraining #yogateacherproblems #yoga🧘🏽‍♀️
